This Is Not
Casual Work

We don't need people who want to feel good about themselves for a weekend. We need people who will stay when it gets hard, show up when no one's watching, and mean it when they say they care.

OUR MANIFESTO

We Believe in
Showing Up

Every child we work with has already been let down by someone. A parent who left. A system that looked away. An adult who promised and didn't deliver.

So when we say volunteer, we don't mean it lightly. We mean: become someone a child can count on.

We are building a generation of young people in Lagos who know, deeply and without question, that they are not alone. That is the work. It is quiet, often thankless, and it changes everything.

Consistency over intensity

A child doesn't need a hero who shows up once. They need someone who comes back. Every week. Even when it's inconvenient.

Presence over performance

This is not content. There are no cameras. We are not building a brand. We are building trust with children who have every reason not to trust.

Community over charity

We don't save anyone. We walk beside them. We share skills, time, and attention with people who are already resilient. Our job is to make that resilience easier to carry.

"We are raising a Lagos where no child grows up wondering if they matter. Where every young girl has someone in her corner who isn't going anywhere."

Our Vision

WHAT WE EXPECT

Before You Sign Up,
Know This

Volunteering here isn't a checkbox. It's a relationship. Here's what that looks like in practice.

Show up regularly

Commit to at least 4 hours a month consistently. Not once. Not when you feel like it. On a schedule that a child can depend on.

Protect their dignity

No photos of children on your social media. No pity stories. No "saving" narratives. These are people, not projects.

Be teachable

You'll work alongside community members who know this context better than you. Listen first. Lead only when asked.

Care past the discomfort

Some days will be hard. You'll see situations that hurt. What matters is not looking away, and coming back the next time.

HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE?

Choose Your Path

Everyone brings something different. Select the areas where your skills and time can make the most difference. You can choose more than one.

Mentorship

Be a consistent presence in a young person's life. Weekly check-ins, homework help, career conversations, and honest guidance.

Relationship-based

Teaching & Tutoring

Lead workshops, teach a skill you know well, or tutor students in core subjects. Share what you've learned so someone else doesn't have to figure it out alone.

Skills-based

Creative & Arts

Photography, music, storytelling, design, film. Help young people find their voice through creative expression and build confidence that lasts.

Expression-based

Operations & Logistics

Event planning, transport coordination, inventory, admin work. The unglamorous things that make everything else possible.

Behind-the-scenes

Tech & Digital

Web development, data entry, digital literacy workshops, social media management. Help us build the tools that let us reach more children.

Technical

Fundraising & Outreach

Grant writing, donor relations, community partnerships, event fundraising. Help us secure the resources that keep this work alive.

ONE MORE THING

The Children Won't
Remember Your Title

They'll remember that you came back. That you knew their name. That you laughed at their jokes and asked about their day. That's the whole job.
